PROJECT ACTIVITIES AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
The Livelihood project aims to empower women through sustainable business opportunities. This project seeks to support disadvantage women achieve financial and economic independence and prosperity, by providing initial capital for start-ups or help expand a business. AFAWI offers micro loans as well as training workshops to help women succeed in business, finance and maintain themselves and their families health.
Volunteer Interns will visit the local opinion leaders, Chiefs and Queen Mothers (traditional female leaders). Volunteer Interns will actively be involved in the communities’ mobilisation and assessment, data collection from the field and analysis for the final report. Volunteer Interns will also prepare loan application forms, help group and train the selected women, ensure proper distribution of loans and be involved in monitoring and evaluation activities.
