General Development Work

AFAWI is constantly looking for individuals who are interested in regional development work with a local NGO in Ghana. We are working on a variety of different projects, which gives you the unique opportunity to get to know all sides of grassroots development work.

Specific Project

AFAWI further gives the opportunity to specifically apply for voluntary work in one of our several projects. Please bare in mind that we always try our best to consider your personal preferences, but depending on the time of your application and the nature of our work, we might be more focused on other projects for the moment and would require your help here.

Alliance for African Women Initiative (AFAWI) constantly welcomes volunteers from all over the world, to help our team with the planning, implementation and coordination of our projects.

AFAWI thereby is not a placement agency, all the projects are owned and operated by our staff, which makes us very different to many other NGOs especially in Ghana.

As a grassroots organisation we strongly believe in the importance of regional social engagement, bearing in mind the important requirement of cultural and social understanding, when it comes to a sensitive work that is actually affecting other peoples life.

Volunteering with AFAWI will therefore give you a unique chance to learn and experience grassroots development work in a local Ghanaian NGO. You will be working in rural communities alongside our experienced staff and thus ensure equality and dignity for women and children in Ghana.

Together we can bring out real positive change!

And of course there will also be some time to travel through our beautiful country.

AFAWI is looking forward to seeing you soon!
