Philip Kwesi Agyei
Managing Director (MD)
Philip has over 20 years of working experience in the Non-Profit sector, promoting gender equality focused sustainable development. He further possesses great experience in community management, social research, and monitoring and evaluating. He strongly believes in citizenship engagement, behaviour change communication strategy, mobilizing communities through education and gender equality, to achieve sustainable development.
Programmes Manager (PM)
Jennifer works in the team of AFAWI as a Programmes Manager for over ten years. She is passionate about supporting women and children in Ghana and not only has long time working experience, but also has excellent relations with the community members. She regualarly introduces students and volunteers to project participants of AFAWI and therefore makes trustful communication and cooperation possible.
Marlene Keller
Deputy Programmes Manager (DPM)
Marlene joined the team of AFAW in 2019. After finishing her Law studies in Germany, she started working in the AFAWI office in Accra and besides is doing her LLM in International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law by distance learning at the European University of Frankfurt (Oder). Marlene has considerable work experience in the German and Ghanaian Legal System. She is further holding qualifications in international organizations management.
Marlene is especially interested in the fields of gender equality and women empowerment and works on building relations to Europe.
Vivian Akumah
Administrative Assistant (AA)
Vivian supports the organization as an administrative assistant and helps especially with the office communication, organization and personal support of the volunteers. She joined AFAWI in 2022 and believes in sustainable work and development of vulnerable women and children.
Yaw Adu Dartey
Accountant (AC)
Yaw also has over 15 years of working experience in the Non-Profit sector, promoting gender equality focused sustainable development from the financial side. He is an expert at preparing budgets, internal audits and maintaining financial and internal controls.
Lena Reiss.
Social Media and Communications
Manager (SMC)
Lena works as a Social Media and Communications Manager for AFAWI. She is responsible for the social media presence and performance of the organization and handles the AFAWI membership programme. Lena's academic background is in cultural science and she currently lives and works in between Ghana and Germany. Lena is particularly committed to the strengthening of localization in the development sector.
Debora Osei Nkansah Nhyira
Account Assistant. (AS)
Debora joined the team of AFAWI in 2023 as Account Assistant. She assists the team in accounting and other administrative matters and provides important support through good community knowledge. Debora believes in the empowerment of grassroots women and is particularly also engaged with our interns and volunteers and provides support to them in all areas.
